Monday’s Moments…
Yesterday at FBC we shared another Lesson from the Life of David about the “substitutes” we put in place of God when trouble comes our way… part of that lesson was understanding that at times, God may remove “crutches” from our lives to help us learn better how to better lean on Him. What we may see as “handicaps” in our circumstances may actually be God’s “handiwork” instead. 😊
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Eph. 2:10
Today our youth and leaders left for Super Summer at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar. This annual camp is always a fun and exciting time for our students as they are surrounded by great worship, bible study, and inspiration. Please pray that God would equip them and lead them to a better and deeper understanding of the relationship He desires to have with each one. Katie will be sending out more information and ways you can pray specifically for students at their leaders. Thank you FBC for supporting and giving so our kids can have this experience and opportunity!
Ladies – This Thursday is our next Ladies Night at FBC. The fun and fellowship starts at 6:00pm, and please bring a snack.
This next Sunday is Father’s Day at FBC! Bring dad to church this Sunday as we will honor him with a token of our appreciation and inspiration, while giving glory and worship to our Heavenly Father as well… hope to see you this Sunday, and invite a friend!
Once again, we are preparing to distribute Backpacks, School Supplies, and Clothing to families in our communities as we gear up for the start of school in August. If you would like to sponsor a Backpack (or more) the cost will be $50 per Backpack. This includes the cost of the Backpack, School Supplies, Kids Bible, and more. Our clothes closed will be open as well to help with clothing needs, HCC will be here with available resources, and we’ll make a party out of it by serving Hot Dogs and Snowcones!
This “Backpacks & Blessings” event will be at our church on Saturday, August 8th from 10:00am to 1:00pm. Please consider sponsoring a Backpack or two and come join us!
