Monday’s Moments…

Thanks you for the generous donations and many volunteer hours that have been given through FBC, and have helped our Levasy neighbors with flood relief assistance. We have had quite a few dollars donated, as well as water, clothing and supplies. As of now, we have quite a bit of supplies on hand, and are waiting to see if the need continues or when clean-up begins. At this point the waters are receding and assessments are taking place to see what happens next and how.

We just received a call that the Red Closet has finished their work here, indicating that most basic needs and lodging have been met for the moment.

There will likely be a need for volunteers and work teams in the days ahead, so as we learn of the needs we will pass them along and strive to be Jesus to those who will continue to need help.

In the meantime, we will still take summer clothing to have available in our clothes closet – but are further supplies and bottled water are not needed at this time.

This weekend is Father’s Day! As part of our celebration to honor our dad’s, our FBC Men’s Ministry is hosting a Fish-Fry this Friday evening at 6:00pm follow by the movie: “A Question of Faith”. This is for our entire church family to come and enjoy, with the hopes that we will invite friends and neighbors to join us. Please bring a side dish, dessert, or both as we enjoy the evening together. The dinner begins at 6:00pm, and the movie will start around 7:00pm. This is a free event!

Then, during Sunday’s worship service, we will honor our dads with a gift, and a message of encouragement and thankfulness for all our dads for what they have done and still do for us.

Bring dad to church this Sunday, and let’s honor the Lord together!

Next week our students will be heading to camp at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar. Please be praying for them and their travel as they spend a week together learning, worshipping, and team-building. We also appreciate everyone supporting our students (along with Jackie & Dale) with your encouragement and financial support!

We are beginning to transition our energies towards VBS which is only 4 weeks away! We still need volunteers and teachers to help make this year’s VBS a success. On Sunday, June 23rd their will be a short VBS workers meeting for everyone who is working (or interested in working) VBS right after the worship service. Please call the church office for details and information.
