Monday’s Moments…

Yesterday was a day of mixed emotions as we had a wonderful turnout for our worship service and also said good-by to Ted Taylor as we honored him with a carry-in meal and card shower after church. We will greatly miss Ted, and want to keep him in our prayers as he moves to Texas with his family. Job well done Ted (and Juanita) – you have been good and faithful servants!

Our D.R. team is still working hard this week with a couple of more teams arriving today to work in Levasy. We appreciate all of their hard work, and plan on having more teams coming to work and serve throughout July. Your financial donations continue to help the residents of Levasy as well as keeping our volunteers hydrated. Thanks for giving!

Our D.R. leadership would welcome any volunteers from our church or community who would like to work, and training will be provided as needed. We are also needing more empty gallon jugs to supply “Shockwave” to the Levasy residents who need to rid their home of mold and mildew. Please leave your empty jugs on the table by the south doors.

This week begins our “Summer Kid Feed” as we partner with the school to provide breakfast and lunch for kids who need a nutritious meal. At this point we have had several come in for food and a cool place to eat and rest. I appreciate our church being willing to share our facilities and resources with these kids, their families, and our D.R. volunteers. I’m sure we will see a increase in utilities and supplies needed to keep these needs met… your faithfulness in giving/serving, and your stewardship to the Lord is very much appreciated!

This week our office will be closed on the 4th & 5th of July, but we look forward to worship this Sunday as we finish our mini-series on “The Weeds and the Seeds”. Have a safe and enjoyable Independence Day and then bring a friend to worship with us this Sunday at FBC!
