Monday’s Moments…

“Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” (Matt. 7:24) - Jesus

This verse is the very reason we worship and study together as we’ve been reviewing “Helpful Holy Habits” as our January sermon series… Together we benefit as a church and followers of Jesus when we adhere and apply His words to our living and giving.  Isn’t it awesome that we have help and instructions and don’t have to wonder or wander alone!  God has promised never to leave us or forsake us.  We have the help and promises of a God who knows us and loves us - no matter what!  Join us this Sunday as we continue to Worship and study the Word together - invite a friend to worship this Sunday!

This coming Sunday afternoon is also our Famous (at least in our parts) Football Fellowship & Chili Cook-off!  Join us for the Super Bowl and enjoy the food, football, and fellowship… if you’re bringing a pot of chili to be judged, please have it here by 5:00pm.  Otherwise, bring some food to share, and a few cans of soup or non-perishable canned items to donate to our food pantry and come enjoy the fun.  The game and food starts at 5:30pm.  During halftime we’ll watch an inspiring mini-movie from Billy Graham ministries, then begin the clean-up during the second half and watch the rest of the game from home.  Again, invite a friend and lets enjoy this opportunity together!

Our SonShine Preschool & Daycare ministry has been doing well, and we just celebrated our 1 year anniversary the beginning of this month.  We have over 30 children enrolled, and new interest every week.  Bonnie Loper has been our Preschool Administrator, and has been instrumental and such a blessing in helping us get this ministry up and going.  She has truly put her whole-heart into this ministry as she interacts with the kids, their parents, and of course our wonderful teachers and workers.  That being said, Bonnie has asked to step back from being the full-time administrator so she can spend more time with her family.  Bonnie has parents in Pennsylvania that are needing her attention along with her precious grandson (and husband).   She will continue to help and serve as a consultant, and help the Preschool and First Kids with chapel and music.  Bonnie and our Preschool Board have done such a wonderful job in making this vision a ministry.  I have so appreciated everyone’s effort in making this ministry a part of our church and community outreach efforts.

Our personnel committee along with Preschool Board will begin the process of looking for a full-time Preschool Administrator.  In the meantime, one of our excellent workers, Charissa Oliver, will step in as our Interim Preschool Director.  Please pray for all of these folks as we continue the transition.  When you get a chance, join me in letting Bonnie know - “Job Well Done!

Have a blessed week and let’s remember to pray for each other, and read the the Word as we Worship together1
